Slnecne Okulaire!

Slnečné okuliare! Translated into English means “sunglasses” and is more difficult to pronounce than it is to read if you can believe it, hahaha. A student taught me this after I asked him how do you say sunglasses in Slovak. The students are just as overjoyed to teach us Slovak as we are to teach them English and its been an amazing exchange of language, culture, life, friendship, and Jesus. We have been working with the students on the EFL(English as a Foreign Language) team for a couple of days now and its been amazing to see the progress of the student’s English and how much fun they are having. The students that I am working with are in the beginner’s section and they are developing and honing their English quickly and it has been very encouraging to see and experience. Jesus has been so strongly at work in all of this! Experiencing how he is developing relationships through language and conversations has been extremely warming to everyone’s heart and mind blowing all at the same time. D’akujem is another word that the students taught me and when translated into English it means “thank you” so a very big D’akujem for all of your prayers and support and we look forward to continue sharing this journey with you – Kyle Anderson
