What is this trip to Slovakia? I thought it was called Czechoslovakia? Is the money worth it? Can you really make a difference? Why are you going there? Students will ask “why we are here?“ I believe the answer is that we are here wasting time and not making a difference…if we are here on our own power that is.
As John 15:5 states “apart from me you can do nothing.” If I operate on my own strengths, I will fail and at best be wasting my time and money. This is my 4th trip to Slovakia, and I am always surprised when God shows up. It is in my weakness that his strength can be used through me.
When looking around at my teammates, I am able to see some amazing relationships forming with their Slovak students. It is great to see people of all ages and completely different cultures coming together so quickly. I cannot understand how such different people are able to connect and communicate…then again, that is from the lens of human strength. It is at this moment that I am reminded of John 15:5 and I have to smile at the amazing power of God and his grace to include even me in his plan.
Very appropriate Cameron. I leave next Thurs for the Solomon Islands on a medical mission to construct a medical clinic/church/EE training center. My first mission trip. May GOD use us to his glory !
